The 12 semi-finalists competed in the semi-finals and 5 finalists were chosen for the grand finale of Speak Olympiad 2009.

Preliminaries were held with a whopping participation of 37 contestants. The judges did a great job in evaluating them throughout the day and selected 12 semi-finalists and 2 reserves.

The competition is held to discover the best speaker in the University of Moratuwa. It is open to all the undergraduates in the University. The dates of the competition are as follows.
Preliminary round: Tuesday, 6th October
Semi-Finals: Wednesday, 14th October
Finals: Thursday, 22nd October
The Preliminary round will run the whole day. The Semi finals and finals will consume only half a day. Registration is not yet open. Stay with the blog to find out how to get yourself registered.

Speak Olympiad is the flag ship event of the Gavel club of University of Moratuwa. This annual contest which seeks to find the best public speaker draws participants from all the faculties of the university.
